Sakurai said that all clones (Lucina, Dr., and Dark Pit) were going to be alts of their respective originals like Alph is for Olimar, but these 3 had their own differences (Lucina – No tip damage, Dr. Mario – Different physics, moves, projectiles. Dark Pit – Electroshock Arm, Final Smash) to solidify them being their own slots.
