About

Protoclone Android refers to a prototype of a bipedal, musculoskeletal android created by the Polish company Clone Robotics. A video of the white, faceless humanoid robot was posted to Twitter / X in February 2025, showing the machine hanging from a hook and twitching to demonstrate its synthetic muscles, which are designed to mimic human muscle contractions to movement. The video spawned numerous memes and jokes from internet users who deemed the footage to be creepy and unsettling, with many questioning the need to create such a robot. The android drew comparisons to Second Angel Lilith from Neon Genesis, Minos from Ultrakill, Amestrian Mannequin Soldiers from Fullmetal Alchemist and the synthetic androids from Westworld, among others.
