Moldy memes are old, stale, and somehow so popular that people don't care just how distorted their pixels are. They'll repost them anyway, further molding the meme until it's distorted far beyond recognition.

Moldy memes provide an odd glimpse into the past of a meme, showing its lifespan over the years.
