Over the weekend, The Hollywood Reporter announced that Nicolas Cage was in talks to star in a film called The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent written by Tom Gormican and Kevin Etten. Fortunately for Cage, he did not have to audition for the role since the main character in the film is Nicolas Cage himself.

The plot itself appears to be extremely promising with it focusing on Cage being "desperate to get a role in a new Quentin Tarantino movie while also dealing with a strained relationship with his teenage daughter. He also occasionally talks to an egotistical 1990s version of himself who rides him for making too many crappy movies and for not being a star anymore."

Of course, when Twitter caught wind of the story, it was all anyone can talk about. Below are some of the funniest reactions as Nicolas Cage began to trend.

This is what a blessing feels like.

Let's ride indeed.

Self-deprecation plot coming in hot.

The world demands nothing else at this point.

World as we know it is finally perfect.

BORN to play.

A religion everyone would sign up for.

Of course some thought they may have read the tweet wrong.

But for others, nothing else matters until this film gets released.

And only one man can do the job.

And Scorsese is even excited about it.

The makeup department will sure have their work cut out for them.

We even received some potential movie posters.

Of course, it will have to follow this beautiful performance.

Here's hoping you're enjoying yourself after this beautiful news, Nic!
