Twitter Reacts To Dave Chappelle's New Comedy Special 'Sticks & Stones'
Comedian Dave Chappelle released his new Netflix comedy special Sticks & Stones on August 26th and many on Twitter are finding his new material either hilarious or extremely unsettling. To some, joking about suicide, abortion, molestation, the LGBTQ community, equal rights, and Michael Jackson proved to be too harsh. For others, they appreciated how no person, including Chappelle himself, is excluded from being made fun of.

Most of the reactions followed Vice's extremely critical review of the special, where they claimed Chappelle 'doubled down on misogyny and transphobia.'

I have no issue with people feeling however they feel about Dave Chappelle’s jokes. What I do take issue with is acting like he can’t joke about certain topics because they’re off limits. THAT’S EXACTLY WHY HE IS JOKING ABOUT THEM.

Dave Chappelle used to be really insightful about how power works; he’s tossed that insight aside to maintain the illusion that he and his buddies can do no wrong. it’s not the end of the world, and it’s certainly not rare, but it’s a little pathetic

I decide to watch all the comedy specials and I noticed that the comedians fall in 2 categories. Way overpaid (nearly all), way underpaid (nearly none). Interestingly the comedian who may be the most underpaid is The Peerless One, Chappelle.

Thank God we have comedians like Dave Chappelle who aren’t afraid to speak the truth and come up with original takes on issues, like, uh [checks notes] “what if transgender but with another race???” pic.twitter.com/cNGDV1udqm
