Why Shouldn't You Search 'P1ckledpea' In The GIFs Tab? The Viral Meme Explained
Memes that urge viewers not to Google or look something up often go viral on social media. The latest version of the meme has users afraid to search the term "p1ckledpea" on the Tenor GIF search, which is available on sites like Twitter (X) and apps like Discord. So why shouldn't you search "p1ckledpea" and who or what is "p1ckledpea" anyways? Here's what you need to know.
Who Is 'P1ckledPea?'
The origins of this particular "don't search" meme go back to November 2022, when YouTuber and animator P1ckledPea uploaded a video titled "[SFM] squiward." The video, like many of P1ckledPea's other videos, is made using Source Filmmaker and Team Fortress 2 assets.
In the video, several T-posing Scout models slide into the frame while a nasaly voice repeats the name "Squidward." The scouts' expressions turn to shock and it's revealed that they're staring at a viral block of 3D text known as the 'CP' 3D text. The video only gained about 40 views in just over a year and the final scene of the animation was uploaded to Tenor by P1ckledPea a day later.
Why Shouldn't You Search 'P1ckledpea' In The GIFs Tab And Look At The First Result?
If you look up "p1ckledpea" in the Tenor GIF keyboard's search engine, you will see P1ckledPea's Team Fortress 2 upload as the first result. People are being urged not to look the term up because of the controversial and shocking nature of the 3D text displayed at the end of the GIF.
While the results aren't exactly as shocking as other examples of the "don't Google" meme, the GIF is definitely bizarre enough to stir some reactions and garner a few laughs, like the recently popular don't translate 'sharp knife' into Latvian memes.
