The Okarun/Fogell edit refers to a photoshopped merge of the character "Okarun," the main protagonist of the Manga/Anime Dandadan / Dan Da Dan and the character "Fogell/McLOVIN," the tritagonist of the movie Superbad (2007)^[1]

History

In the movie "Superbad," the deuteragonist Seth was tasked by a high school girl Jules to buy liquor for her upcoming grad party. The protagonist Evan also informed another girl Becca that they were getting some, as they both were also going to Jules' party. As a result, Fogell created a fake Driver Licence under the alias "McLOVIN" in order to get access to liquor, and the Licence contains the iconic photo.

Origin

In Jun 25, 2024, Twitter/X^[2] user @Tallorinarts posts a photoshopped image of the McLOVIN Driving Licence photo, depicting Okarun.

Spread

In Oct 2, 2024, Twitter/X^[3] user @mistushisama posts the photoshopped image with a bottom text spelling out the character's name.

From it's virality, @mistushisama^[4] proceeded to make photoshopped images of other characters from Dandadan, with the similar format of the Okarun image.
