Super Mario Bros. Cossover is a game by Jay Pavlina of Exploding Rabbit on April 27, 2010. It is a fan game that recreates the original Super Mario Bros. and allows you to play it as characters from other famous NES games. The game features Mario (Super Mario and Mario Series, Link (Legend of Zelda Series), Ryu Hayabusa (Ninja Gaiden Series), Bill Rizer (Contra Series), Megaman (Megaman Series), Samus (Metriod Series) and Simon Belmont (Castlvania Series). The game is semi-popular on the internet and is considered to be 1 of the best online flash games and is very popular with Nintendo fans.
The game's creator Jay Pavlina has made a videos series called: "Super Mario Bros. Crossover – Playing My Own Game" where as the title says he plays his own game. On July 03, 2010 the first episode was made.
When playing Link, Jay uses his downward sword attack to kill two gombas and exclaims: "Downward Thrust Motherfucker!". This became popular on the forums as images with text or spinning of events, and memes. The admin title became "Downward Thruster".
Just by typing in "Downward" or sometimes "Downward Thrust" will pop up the saying.
