Which makes it so that even if a creator thinks X negative thing about me, it's very risky to say anything because they don't really have proof, or it's already out there so they don't see benefit. I think that is has amplified recently, as it's more openly "acceptable" to s--- on me, so I've been getting hit with the rumor mill recently behind the scenes. Mostly with stupid stuff, like "I heard you talked s--- about me" or "I heard you treated this person this way", or just misrepresentations of my character in situations. A lot of it is unintentionally misconstrued by people, as it's just looking at what information they have and coming to a conclusion through the lense that now I'm a bad person. In this situation, it's completely false and defamatory. BUT I don't think that the intention behind the tweet was to lie about me, I just think the rumor mill struck and it hit someone that doesn't like me so they got unlucky and in a heated moment tried to "expose" it. For clarity, what he said was not true and there's no "victim" and he's just missing multiple vital pieces of information from whatever story he was told. I'll be as specific as I can without dragging any other creators into this situation; At VidCon I had a hotel room (as did every creator), and VidCon gave me a master suite, so there was a living room and tables and couches and stuff. Because of that, pretty much every night we had game nights and we played cards against humanity and monopoly, and just hung out and had fun until we all split. Tons of creators came through, sometimes it was just a few people, other times it was 10 or so. I invited one of my close friends to come hang (who's over 21), and we were at a different party with their friends and they asked if we could bring them. I said yes. One of those people was 18. We played games and then they split back to their hotel rooms (in the same hotel lol). They hung out with us another night as well, which I also didn't personally invite them to, as they were hanging with the same friend that was hanging with me and ASKED to come as they weren't having fun at whatever party they were at. Before this night, I didn't know these people, I didn't know of these people, I didn't even know their ages until some point later, and every single person there can and has said that I absolutely expressed no intentions towards flirting with or talking to that person at all, that person included. They were also, as stated, over 18, and again, I didn't know who they were, or their age, or have any contact or history with them to be able to invite them at all in the first place. These people were all cool, very friendly, and have been friendly towards me since. I hope to continue being friends with everyone I met at vidcon, and hopefully one day every friendship I have isn't looked at under a microscope, or people will at least feel less comfortable looking at everything I do through an evil lense. Everyone that was there is extremely confused and angry that he tweeted it, and if there was a victim, he would've just exposed their trauma to try and attack me. They messaged him telling him to delete it, and so he did, he didn't have a realization that he shouldn't do it. Though I don't think anyone should harass him of course, and I don't think he was TRYING to slander me on purpose. I dm'd him, and he replied. I was hoping to get a tweet from him clarifying that he was wrong about what he said (even if it was followed up with "I still think dream's a creep though!"), but he said he was drunk so he couldn't talk tonight and we have to talk tomorrow when he's sober. Hence me making the reply now, so the false narrative doesn't spread as much lol I am actually looking forward to our talk though, and maybe it's a chance to clear up other misconceptions or find common ground. I obviously have no expectations, but at the end of the day, I really just need to talk to people more. I used to make a strong effort to go around and clear up misinformation, but I stopped at some point. Who I had never met, aspiring to be behind a behind the scenes that I didn't understand yet. In this community a lot of us are told to remain silent and to bite our tongues and those who speak out against it are often isolated. And that's wrong, it's all wrong. But most and most importantly, this is about my story and the story of all the other people who has been silenced, rather it's by their own fear, by power, by this idea that it's not significant enough. Because if it has effected you, it's significant enough. This is also for all the asexual people out there who are surrounded by a world where you're wanted for your body. Who I had never met, aspiring to be behind a behind the scenes that I didn't understand yet. Sometimes I wish back to when I was unknowingly looking from the outside, I now have a ruined perception, a rather truthful one. In this community a lot of us are told to remain silent and to bite our tongues and those who speak out against it are often isolated. And that's wrong, it's all wrong. But most and most importantly, this is about my story and the story of all the other people who has been silenced, rather it's by their own fear, by power, by this idea that it's not significant enough. Because if it has effected you, it's significant enough. This is also for all the asexual people out there who are surrounded by a world where you're wanted for your body. I grew tired of not being able to speak out about my own story. And if it wasn't for Shelby I wouldn't have realized my silence was bringing me everything except peace.

< Notes ered if I could ever fir peace The idea of "will I ever heal" it's scary, but I was tired of withholding my story to protect myself. I had spend so long convincing myself that it was my fault, or that I was just a coward. I just wanted to disappear, but I didn't, because I realized that this a problem bigger than me. It may sound dramatic but it's how I felt for over a year, I feel everything very strongly and I don't want that to change. It was a big deal to me, and I spend too much time downplaying my own experiences and I still do, I'm still trying to realize that it's okay. My story is about power, and age, and consent. It p----- me off that they can hide behind their power while victims are left helpless no matter what scenario. It pisses me off that he thought he had the right to do what he did, that he did it even in my silence.

I remember a moment around October where I made a comment about a certain group abusing power over minors in their dms, saying they had minors in their dms, it was an absent minded comment and I apologize for it of course. It was a possible subconscious jab out of my own personal resentment. My comments filled with people saying that I didn't care about grooming victims, and that I thought assault was a joke. And I remember sitting there, reading the comment scrolling over and over again, heart beating faster over half of the comments had him as their profile picture. I just wanted to die. I was embarrassed of myself and I was angry, and I wondered if I could ever find peace.

Part of me still wanted to feel cool about it all, to convince myself that I was lucky so I didn't have to think about it. I would reimagine the scenario in my head. Replaying it again and again, what I could have done, what I could have said instead. But it didn't matter, none of it did. Because he never asked, and that fact would never change, no matter how hard I thought about it. I changed after that, I believed life wasn't fair, I was naive, and maybe sometimes to a fault, but I could only wish it lasted longer. I miss not knowing, i used to be kind, I'm angry a lot of the time now, at that person, at myself, at the fact that a year later I can feel my heart beat stop at the sight of him and he probably couldn't even make out my face in a crowd. I can't stop thinking about who I was before it all, who I'll never be again and how something you can never undo no matter how hard you try.

I'm haunted by him everywhere, in usernames, profile pictures, in my own past. I lost the passion I once had for content, for anything really, the association never went away. All the years I spend creating this community felt like a waste because of one night. I didn't even wanna log onto this app [twitch], all over something that I never asked for.
