Mark Fields Assaults A Climate Activist refers to an incident and viral video which took place during a Mansion House dinner reception where Janet Barker, a Green peace activist silently protested at the dinner before Conservative MP Mark Fields grabbed her by the back of the neck and forced her out of the reception. Mark Fields received heavy criticism from politicians and members of the public who called on him to resign. He was later suspended due to the incident with an investigation being launched in the wake of what happened.

During a dinner reception at Mansion House, a climate activist from Greenpeace interrupted Conservative MP and Chancellor Phillip Hammond during a speech and walked past Conservative MP Mark Fields who grabbed the climate activist and pushed her against the wall before pushing her out of the reception

Reaction
Reaction to video resulted in heavy criticism from politicians from the Labour Party, the Liberal Democrats, the Scottish National Party and the Green Party. He also received heavy criticism from the public who called for Mark Fields to be suspended or get sacked due to the incident.
On June 21st, 2019, Mark Fields apologised to Barker and referred himself to the Cabinet Office. Janet Barker called on Mark Fields to reflect upon what he did but she did not put a complaint in to the police. Mark Fields was later suspended because of the incident.
