Overview

The Miles Morales' Adidas Suit Controversy refers to discussions and an online controversy surrounding Miles Morales' final suit in the 2023 Insomniac video game Spider-Man 2. Judgments and discourse about Morales' final suit, also called his "Evolved Suit"began to be issued online after the game's release, with people criticizing the overall design of the suit and calling it a downgrade from the one Miles designed in the previous game. In November 2023, Adidas announced that the suit was created as a collab between the game developer and the clothing brand, sparking renewed criticism of the "Miles Morales Original."

Adidas Brand Collab Announcement

In early November 2023, clothing brand Adidas announced the Miles' suit was designed as a brand collaboration with Marvel. This led to renewed discourse about Miles' suit. For example, on November 2nd, 2023, X[7] user @gwenstacying made a post that read, "Miles’ ugly ass suit not being the result of a random employee at Insomniac shooting their shot but cause Adidas struck a sponsorship deal with the game to sell their original design irl later makes it being universally hated a million, BILLION, times funnier" (seen below, left).

Also on November 2nd, X[8] user @ceyhundvd made a post that read, "Me going to August 1949 to prevent a certain company from being ever found so Miles doesn't have to wear a stinkyass suit at the end of Spider-Man 2," gathering over 9,000 likes in a week (seen below, right).

The suit is lame but mostly relatively inoffensive, but I'm aghast at the decision to cut off the top of the head so his full head of hair is exposed..

Like, what the fuck… Isn't the point of the suit to preserve anonymity while out in public? Imagine if you robbed a bank wearing a balaclava but you cut off the top so your big goofy broccoli cut is visible to everyone. Who does that?
