In late February 2025, a video of TikToker @sarahcroberts (Sarah C. Roberts) suggesting someone should assassinate Elon Musk and admitting to eight years of tax evasion garnered viral spread online. One of the earliest known people to repost the video was Instagram^[1] user therealanthonykort, who posted the video on February 22nd, 2025, receiving over 5,700 likes in three days.

In the video, Roberts suggests someone should assassinate Musk and then goads the FBI to investigate her, saying, "I haven't filed my taxes in like eight years and yet, no one's come for me, so I'm gonna say it: let's assassinate some motherfuckers."

On February 24th, the X^[2] / Twitter account @LibsofTikTok reposted a raw version of the now-deleted video, writing, "TikToker who admits she hasn't filed taxes in 8 years calls for Elon to be ass*ssinated," tagging the FBI's X account. The post gained over 12 million views, 10,000 reposts and 32,000 likes in a day.

Developments

Later on February 24th, 2025, Elon Musk then posted a comment under the LibsofTikTok X post, tagging lawyer Ed Martin (EagleEdMartin) and writing, "Death threat and admission of multiple counts of tax fraud," garnering over 15,000 likes in a day.^[3] Libs of TikTok responded, "Uh oh… now she’s in trouble. Don’t you love when they admit their crimes on video for the world to see?"

That same day, Ed Martin quote-reposted Musk's comment from another X^[4] account, @USAEdMartin, writing, "Duly noted. Thx for letting us know. We’ll put you in the system. Talk soon, M’am. #NoOneIsAboveTheLaw," garnering over 124,000 likes in a day. Shortly after, @LibsOfTikTok made a post on X^[5] about the lawyer's response, garnering over 85,000 likes in a day.

Online Reactions

The video was spread by many conservative social media users in late February 2025, inspiring some to share links to all her profiles and details of her life in an attempt to get her fired or get her in legal trouble.

For instance, on February 24th, 2025, X^[6] user @WokeWarRoom posted the video, writing, "If you want to see what a mental breakdown looks like, watch this woke nut job admit she hasn't paid taxes in 8 years and call for @elonmusk to be assassinated," garnering over 1,400 likes in a day.

That night, Donald Trump Jr. quote-reposted^[7] @WokeWarRoom's tweet and said, "If you ever doubted that leftism is a mental disorder just watch this video," garnering over 15,000 likes in a day.

As the video continued going viral, several X^[8][9] users shared links to Roberts' alleged accounts in an attempt to expose her further and get her in further trouble.
