GYROBOWL

The Gyrobowl first began on Ponychan's /oat/ board on May 6th, 2011, after the airing of the season one finale, "The Best Night Ever". In a thread stating "SCREW PONIES, I GOT GYROBOWLS. THEY ARE VIRTUALLY INDESTRUCTIBLE". It originated after a commercial for the product aired on The Hub during a commercial break, which featured exaggerated claims such as the product being spill-proof and "virtually indestructible". These claims are often taken to absurd degrees by Ponychan users, such as claiming that even light cannot escape the Gyrobowl, giving it a black hole-like effect.

On July 12th 2011 an Anon user started a thread on Scootaloo/Dash shipping This was met with mixed reactions until a user named Draco Magica posted the first very first Scootastare the first usage of the term "scootastare" was said by a user named robot rainbow dash attack

MOONBASE ALPHA

The video was created with an audio track that mixed the Overworld music from Super Mario Bros 2 and the Text to Speech generator of a game known as Moonbase Alpha, made by Nasa as a simulator. The video portion was taken from several MLP FIM episodes to try and go along with what was being said by the speech generator.

The image originates from the Pony Thread Simulator v2.2 video, where at the beginning 2 seconds, there is an image of the face with the words "IT BEGINS" It became a popular image in /oat/, and was used very often.
