There were multiple conflicts between masons and anti-masons regarding the meme. The cause of the conflict was due to masons taking many oaths, including oaths not to void other's oaths. The 8ch /bmw/ board used the meme during 2016 in the first ever memetic assault between two different communities through a raid on the Chaos Magick order DKMU, voiding the oaths of all members and causing the order to disband. Over the next few years, followers of the so-called "oathpill" posted their Oathbreaker memes on an endchan board until it was wiped, after which most Oathbreaker memes have been lost to history.
