The Fuck You Lizard

So I've been reading <i><a href="https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/541936.Quartered_Safe_Out_Here">Quarted Safe Out Here</a></i> by <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_MacDonald_Fraser">George MacDonald Fraser</a> lately and, although I've only read the first pages, there have been some absolutely golden moments that I'll mark down and come back to later.

I'm also really enjoying the fact that almost everyone in the book talks just like my Gran did. It makes everything much more entertaining.

This image is based of an anecdote given on Page 59, paragraph 1:

"The chief irritant on stag was the "up-you bird" (I give the bowdlerised form of the name) familiar to all who have soldiered in the Far East. In fact, it is a large lizard, said to have a vicious bit, which inhabits drains in the civilised areas; where it lived in the Dry Belt, God knows."
