About
"Orange Bill" is the given name of a goose that appears haphazardly during the time-lapse video of "End Love" by OK Go. It has gained attention for appearing the photobomb the video shoot, and in the same manner as Crasher Squirrel, has been photoshopped into other images.
Origin
Like most OK Go videos, "End Love" is a visually-stunning affair. Shot at Echo Park Lake in Los Angeles, the video consists of a continuous 18hr shot of the band performing, along with an additional 192 hours of time-compressed footage of the LA skyline. The band performs in a manner to take advantage of the time-compression for the final 4.5 minute video: appearing to move without walking, bouncing from point to point in time with the music, and even having an overnight outdoor nap, with each member taking a turn on "watch" to sing the lyrics. As with most OK Go videos, it has already been called "viral".
In the video can be seen other people and numerous geese that populate the lake area, but one particular goose is repeated seen by the band over and over again. According to the video directors, the goose was initially hostile towards the band being in its territory, but eventually came to "adopt" the band and was completely unfazed by all the action the band made in its motions. The band and directors called the goose "Orange Bill", but later learned that the local population of Echo Park knew the goose collectively as "Maria".
Meme
Orange Bill's presence in the video is another example of wildlife photobombing, in the same manner as Crasher Squirrel, where the subject appears completely accepting – and perhaps desiring – of being on camera. Exploitable cut-outs of the goose have appeared and used in the same manner as Crasher Squirrel. Furthermore, the goose has gained a similar popularity, having its own Facebook page
