The Bop House Instagram page garnered over 123,000 followers in its first three weeks, with the TikTok page garnering over 860,000 followers in the same span of time, with numerous videos gaining millions of views.

For example, on December 15th, Bop House posted a dance video to TikTok[3] that garnered over 13 million views in just under two weeks.

Piper Rockelle Controversy

Sometime in mid-December 2024, TikTokers purportedly began commenting on Bop House videos suggesting they add content creator Piper Rockelle[4] to the house, who is 17 years old. On December 17th, BopHouse posted a skit video to TikTok[5] joking about the suggestion in which they were all arrested for adding Piper to the house, garnering over 18.4 million views in 10 days.

On December 18th, 2024, Piper Rockelle posted a video on her TikTok[6] page responding to the skit in which she danced under the caption, "dw girls I will bail you out," garnering over 10.7 million views in nine days.

Online Reactions

The Bop House inspired notable criticism on TikTok, largely relating to the Piper Rockelle suggestions and their existence on the app in general, which has a large user base of minors.

On December 16th, 2024, TikToker[7] @cazmorganx posted a video criticizing the house for not only being "devastating" to feminism but for the number of commenters suggesting they add Piper Rockelle to the house, calling it "disturbing" that she was the most suggested and that it shouldn't be allowed by TikTok, garnering over 400,000 views in a week.
