Dillon Francis is an American producer and DJ known for being one of the producers to bring Moombahton, a subgenre of electronic music, to the forefront of the electronic dance music, alongside online antics and personas.

History

Dillon Francis gained notoriety within the Electronic Dance Music scene when he first collaborated with fellow producer Diplo, on the song "Que Que," and rose to even greater success when he released the song "Masta Blasta," with both moombahton songs being featured on his "Westside! EP." Dillon Francis broke through as an EDM mainstay with the release of his singles "IDGAFOS" and "Bootleg Fireworks (Burning Up)," released on Mad Decent and Fly Eye Records respectively, with both songs considered as fan favorites. In 2014, Francis' collaboration with DJ Snake on the song "Get Low" peaked at 61st on the Billboard Hot 100 and would be featured on his debut album "Money Sucks, Friends Rule" which would be released in the same year.

Reputation

Dillon is known for his reputation as "EDM's class clown" due to numerous stunts such as selling a number of odd services on his merch store like going vegan for a year or building an Ikea chair, and his various personas he uses, ranging from the snobbish deep house producer DJ Hanzel and the more "bro-guy" attitude of DJ Rich as Fuck.

As of January 2019, Dillon Francis sports over 4.3 million monthly listeners on Spotify. His social media accounts also sport a massive following with his Facebook page and Twitter account sporting 1.5 million likes and 1.05 million followers respectively and an Instagram account amassing 2.1 million followers.
