On May 12th, 2019, a petition to cancel Good Omens was published on the website Return To Order.[3] In the original posting, however, the petition called for Netflix to cancel the series, despite it being a part of Amazon Prime's original library.

On June 19th, Twitter [4] user @wdebruinjr posted a screenshot of the petition and corrected the errors, which was originally posted on the fleetof-fandoms Tumblr [5] tagging Neil Gaiman in the caption. The post received more than 2,400 likes and 300 retweets in 24 two days (shown below, left).

Gaiman retweeted[6] the post and wrote, "I love that they are going to write to Netflix to try and get #GoodOmens cancelled. Says it all really." The post received more than 23,000 likes and 4,400 retweets in two days (shown below, center).

On June 20th, 2019, The Guardian[7] reported that more than 20,000 people had signed the petition. Netflix responded to a tweet about the article. They wrote,[8] "ok we promise not to make any more." The post received more than 49,000 likes and 9,600 retweets in 24 hours (shown below, right).

I'm Christian, probably on the conservative end depending on what you think that means. (Evangelical?)

I read about half the book, Niel Gaiman wasn't really to my taste though (Pratchett fan) so I never finished it.

There's no truly horrific content in it. It was just a well written parody of the Omen, The Screwtape Letters, and various interpretations of the Book of Revelations.

No Christian I know cares.
This is like that one guy who protests Starbuck's Coffee cups every Christmas. Some media companies will write a quick article because controversy. Some people on social media will make fun of it because it's ridiculous to propose that this could be cancelled on the whim of people who wouldn't be watching it.
Maybe some older people on Facebook will like and share a denouncement post, but they also don't care.

Please don't assume that normal people are running around trying to cancel media projects.
Just like when SJWs try to get things cancelled, the reality is that only a tiny number of people with too much time on their hands is making a stink. Most people, even people who share beliefs with the cancellation advocates, do not care.

I hope the Good Omens fans are able to enjoy the mini-series.

Wait, but why though? What about Good Omens is offensive or even heretical? If anything, Young Pope can be considered more offensive, and yet from what I've seen most Catholics either don't mind or like it. Either way, I've said it before and I'll say it again: You cannot and should not try to censor or restrict the media people create unless in violation to the law.

TL;DR: What part of "Kingdom of God or Kingdom of Heaven" don't you understand?
