Video game song mash-ups started to appear sometime after October 24, 2006. The first, submitted by barf on YTMND, was a combination of Kirby's Nightmare in Dreamland's "Gourmet Race" and "Drop It Like It's Hot" by Snoop Dog. The video was then later re-edited and submitted onto youtube December 20, 2007.
Mash-ups are just regular songs from video games, mixed with other games. Another popular one, by ValleyOfWalls, combined a song by Soulja Boy, and FFVII.
Another mix of FFVII and Black Eyed Peas was created for the Chocobo Theme on August 6, 2008.
