'Mystery Flesh Pit National Park' Video Game Based On Creepypasta Axed By Creator

Over the past three years, one of the more compelling horror projects on the internet has been Mystery Flesh Pit National Park, a world created by Trevor Roberts centering around a strange, giant hole (not unlike a Sarlacc) that mysteriously appears in Texas and is turned into a tourist attraction.
The project started on Reddit as a creepypasta before the world got filled in on other sites like Tumblr and YouTube. It appears that there was even a video game in the works, but its creator, Trevor Roberts, announced its cancelation after just one week of its Kickstarter being active.
For a few reasons, I’ve decided to cancel the #MysteryFleshPit videogame Kickstarter so that anyone who pledged receives a 100% refund. More info here: https://t.co/fHvdqIrRvB

"After a lot of fan feedback, a fumbled marketing push, internal disputes, and some deep introspection, I have made the decision to cancel the Kickstarter as of this Monday, November 28th," Roberts wrote on the project's official Tumblr yesterday.
In the post, Roberts then elaborated further in a full statement addressing the decision to cancel the project.
To those who were looking forward to a videogame, I apologize. Most people do not fully appreciate what a substantial undertaking it is to produce even a modest videogame. I have personally and carefully created each and every piece of the Mystery Flesh Pit project, but something as large as a videogame is wholly beyond my scope as an individual artist. When I am not the one directly responsible for overseeing its creation, I cannot ensure its quality. After this experience I can firmly state that there will be no endorsed videogame adaptions of the Mystery Flesh Pit as long as I am alive.
I sincerely hope that by cancelling this overly-ambitious Kickstarter campaign I have avoided what could have been a rushed and inferior gaming experience at best, and an unmitigated disaster at worst.
The news was disappointing for those fantasizing about a survival horror game set in an insane world around a Mystery Flesh Pit, but the good news for fans of the project is that all pledges towards the game are being refunded and there is a tabletop game based on the project coming next year.
