Been seeing this on Twitter a lot lately. Seems to go back to July 2022, but can't pin down a source post.
no but really just imagine bucky killing steve and steve mutters out his name in his last few breaths and then, only then, bucky realizes, it all clicks into place for him as he remembers who he was and what they did, and he starts sobbing and tries to save his comrade but fails. and he ends up staying there, clutching onto the corpse, shaking and sobbing because he was too late. Okay, if they can make it come back around so that Cap. America can break out of this nonsense, then that's quite a bit better.
1) because it's basically the worst thing that could happen to him, and 2) it would be very interesting and creative case of art mimicking reality/a commentary on what's been happening in America.

It's still really out there, but then again, so are pretty much all of Marvel's recent comics.
