Yes, there are certain people who are convinced that Lapidot is a toxic relationship despite all the evidence to the contrary. And so when Beta, which was written by Lauren Zuke, came out and showed that Lapis and Peridot had become close friends who actually seemed to enjoy each others company, a bunch of crazy people somehow got it into their heads that she was somehow mocking gay people, despite that fact that Zuke herself is gay.

And that is just the tip of the crazy-burg.
