Every time I think the S------Part-Of-The-Fandom (ShPOTF) can't lower my expectations anymore, there they go, running one of the show's own writers off of Twitter for making the simple mistake of having Peridot and Lapis not only tolerating each others presence, but being actual friends. Then they accuse her of queer-baiting, despite the fact that she is herself a lesbian.

Its times like this that I thank God for KYM's SU fandom. You guys are, in general, pretty damn chill, and for that I am thankful. This site has been a safe place from the unending hellscape and cesspool that is Tumblr and Twitter. Not a safe place from leaks, but eh, whatever.

Yes, there are certain people who are convinced that Lapidot is a toxic relationship despite all the evidence to the contrary. And so when Beta, which was written by Lauren Zuke, came out and showed that Lapis and Peridot had become close friends who actually seemed to enjoy each others company, a bunch of crazy people somehow got it into their heads that she was somehow mocking gay people, despite that fact that Zuke herself is gay.

And that is just the tip of the crazy-burg.
