that's the dichotomy of it. Superman if given the chance would love nothing more then to be just Clark Kent, to give up the responsibilities of being Superman and just get to be human, but because of his powers and the trouble it brings, he knows he can't. For Bruce however the guilt of his failures to save his parents made him become Batman, and as far as he's concerned Bruce is dead and only batman remains.

This is why in stories if they get the chance to lead "normal" lives, Superman is more then happy with it and embraces the peace, but Batman can't stand it.
