Boom Bop (the full quote being "Boom Bam Bap Bada Bap Bop Pow") refers to a quote from the 2011 YouTube viral video "The Rap Battle [Parody]" featuring Supa Hot Fire. Starting in May 2017, the quote has been used as a sound effect in videos as well as a catchprase in image macros.

Origin

On May 25th, 2011, Supa Hot Fire posted a parody video[1] titled "The Rap Battle [Parody]", which lampoons the highly confrontational aspects of rap battles (reupload shown below). The character Supa Hot Fire ends the rap battle with the quote shortly after saying another notable phrase from the video, "I'm about to end this man's whole career." It is met with celebratory cheering from spectators.


On February 12, 2021, YouTuber Gwokamoly uploaded this video (seen below) from a game of Battlefield. [3] It received over 64,000 views, 940 likes and 76 comments in approximately 9 years.


Spread

The meme began to appear as an image macro (seen below) in 2012. It was uploaded in to Know Your Meme by user Brad.[4] It later appeared on Twitter throughout 2013 and led to a number of other memes using the same quote.

On February 7 2016, YouTuber [2] Vador76 posted a video (seen below) featuring the sound effect during an impressive play in Rainbow Six Siege. The video (shown below) hit 70,000 views in 5 years.
