Okay, I think these comparisons deserve some context since they give perhaps the most intersting thematic parallels between Samurai Jack's Ashi and Jack and Berserk's Guts and Casca >This scene from Berserk is called "The Bonfire of Dreams", and it takes place shortly after Guts' 1v100 fight. Guts is tired, his limits tested since he juggled with killing a 100 mooks, Casca's iolent outbursts and saving Casca from drowning. As a show of goodwill Casca tends to his wounds and "talks" to him about why he acts the way he does. Now here is where it gets interesting, Guts for the first time in the series opens up to someone. He narrates all his inner insecurities, doubts, and desires. He lets this woman, who tried to kill him at their first meeting,a woman who berated him for saving her life, someone who called hima Mad dog" into his heart. Throughout the whole series Jack never gave any details about his past life to anyone, only that he needs to get back to it. Not even to the Scotsman his best friend. Yet here he is, telling a story from his mother that he holds dear to a woman that tried to kill him at their first meeting, a woman who berated him for saving her life, someone who called him a "Lecherous Snake". Like Guts he gave into the moment and opened up his heart to the woman that had so much in common with him This show of vulnerability fueled the sparks of a sudden passionate relationship that HOPEFULLY won't end tragically
