I feel like this is a twist on the "Boy who cried wolf" aesop. Fortunately that isn't that common around here yet, but I try to build a reputation that if I speak something to that effect, it is serious enough that someone's going to die/get hurt/fired/have major financial loss if they don't take it seriously.
Unfortunately more than once I had to show them firsthand what "literally" means when shit hits the fan due to not them taking my warning/advice seriously. At least once I had someone calling me for that, thinking them so smart they called out on how I was "clickbaiting" them into reading my memo. "Wait wait wait, aren't you LITERALLY going to do THAT right NOW, right?" (gleefully do the thing on schedule)
