Super Mario Odyssey - what if I told you

I think the thing with people wanting everything ported to the switch is that the Switch is such a unique console. (Which you can technically say that about everything Nintendo made post-gamecube era, proving unique =/= perfect) But this is unique beyond a gimmick, it's a suprising mix between console and handheld that works so well. It's an experience that you wouldn't get from having just a handheld or having just a console, because it can do what both can do, meaning you can finally take your favorite console games with you wherever you go, something that, up until recently, was simply impossible. So yes, not every game needs to be ported to the Switch, but the reasoning, at least the reasoning as I see it, behind why people want that to be the case is understandable: Console games that aren't tethered to your wall.

But it would be right at home on a Nintendo console…
