It actually wasn't bad. The biggest issue people had with the series was the art style felt like it was just copying Seth McFarlane, and the show's ratings tanked so quickly after the premiere that the rest of the finished episodes were dumped onto Boomerang.
Scooby-Doo Mystery Inc was more well liked overall for it's style and characterization, but the latter was also kind of the reason why some people didn't like it (I heard the original creators of Scooby Doo, Joe Ruby and Ken Spears, hated Mystery Inc because they felt the characterization was too cynical and it "failed to capture the essence of the original show," and apparently the Latin American VA for Velma also hated the show because she didn't like how Velma was portrayed in the series).
