Beastars is a slice of life manga, but with antrophomorphic animals, think of Zootopia, except in highschool and with more violent and sexual points, One day, Legosi finds that one of his friends,a herbivore named Tem, has been brutally murdered on school grounds... by a carnivore. Driven by a sense of justice, Legosi sets out to find out who butchered his friend. Voted second best manga of the 2018 in the Kono Manga wa Sugoi ranking, second to The Promised Neverland. Also yes, Hippos are omnivores, I know that and I think the author too.

Yeah, no, it's not. The author originally came up with the idea way the frick back in middle school (mainly Legosis character) and later starting drawing the manga. It's just kinda coincidence (I guess) that Beastars came out the same year as Zootopia, so unless you've read the interview with the author (I can't remember her name), I can see why anyone would think that. I just didn't think that because I've never seen Zootopia, ever. Sorry if any of this came off as condescending.
