Not social media, but the same can be said of Diablo right now. Blizzard expects their new Chinese demographic target to effectively replace any Diablo fans that decide to ditch the series and keep their earnings and more, and maybe that WILL be the case… for a while. Unfortunately, not only do less than 10% of mobile players ever pay anything for those games, but also, they are very fickle. They cannot keep a steady userbase with a quick cash grab game like Diablo Immortal compared to past titles, and that will inevitably mark the franchise's doom if they do nothing about it.

The bottom line here is that people honestly have no reason to have to forcibly adapt to any company's changes if they have better options, and Tumblr users, just like fans of any game, indeed have other options, so they will take them, and the ones to suffer the most negative consequences from all of that is the companies, not us.

I've always joked that the people in charge of large companies that make ridiculous decisions no normal human would conceive are actually fairies. As in, the fey of lore who burn your house down for giving them socks. Only something as insane as a fairy could think anything corporations do is a good idea.
