In the context of someone who has played the game, Claude being able to keep his good humor is one of the reasons he's impressive.
Even when it's just a facade, Claude always- Always, keeps control over himself. He doesn't get beaten down by the horrors of the TWISTED, of by the horrors of the war.
Claude's humor doesn't make me take him less seriously, it's a sign of strength.
Claude is the only character remains resolute to survive the second half, no matter what you did before. He pursues his goals no matter what.
In spite of being rejected as an outsider in every place he's ever been, he remains resolute to build the society he wished he could have live in.
Claude is not admirable to me because of the humor, and false smile he presents to the world. He's admirable to me because he never gives up on making his smile real.
There is nothing degrading about Claude being the only character who holds onto their sanity no matter what.
