I think the Chinese McDonald's stores that banned black people had their franchise licenses removed, forcing them to close.

Because with McD the vast VAST majority of stores are independently run stores that pay licenses to McD to use their brand and have access to their logistic network. But beyond that management answers to nobody but themselves.

Of course they play all sides. What corporations care about is money, and they'll pander to everyone in order to gain as much as possible
