At least censorship then was sort of understandable, as it was mostly just to not piss Karen off, the same Karen who would buy Little Timmy's games. Censorship today is just outright moronic and pretentious as fuck, dictated by a bunch of clueless boomers that know neither their audience nor the medium.

I think their latest tactic is complaining that sexy women (but oddly never the men) are somehow "unrealistic" (The "Where are her organs" fiasco comes to mind).
To me, that screams that these people are running out of excuses on why they want to censor anime tiddies.
