Persona 5 - Personas are weird

It is a shame that you can't keep your starting persona viable without abusing game mechanics and extrem min-maxing. I understand that this is probably done to 'encurage' fusion, but it's sad to let these cool desings go to wast after the first couple hours of gameplay.
