To be fair, Magical Girl is more of an entire genre. Sailor Moon's just the most well known, so it's easiest to reference.

You've also got stylizations, like over the top expressions and chibi-inspired stuff.

Some shows also reference anime in other ways, it's just that they aren't always so blatant about it. Or it might be on the more obscure side.
