There are times in our life where everything has gone to complete s---.

You've lost touch with all your friends. Your partner has broken up with you. You've lost your job. Your mental health has declined rapidly. Your having trouble keeping up with the bills.

Nothing is going right.

It is at times that we need to remember.

We need to remember that if a child soldier who had to flee on rotting feet from clouds of Mustard Gas through a flooded trench filled with the mangled and mutilated bodies of his friends and family can not only survive all of that, but return home again to lead a normal life; then there is no reason your life will not get better either.

That may all sound far fetched, but if you're British, European, Russian or American, there is a good chance that our own grandparents and great-grandparents found themselves in a similar situation.

All storms pass and the sun will shine again. They always do, have faith and you will see.
