Funny thing is Yakuza 1's PS2 dub was kinda done in an attempt to copy some of what GTA was doing back then (mainly with the celebrity voices like Mark Hamill and Michael Madsen, who was even in GTA3). Now Sega understands it's better to just stick to people who mainly do just VA (though I was genuinely surprised they actually got Kiryu's PS2 dub actor back for Yakuza 7), meanwhile Rockstar barely uses celebrities anymore (according to someone from Rockstar, the reason why they stopped using celebrities after San Andreas is because they wanted to use the popularity of GTA to make lesser known VAs more popular, though things started out rough as to my understanding there was a pay dispute with the VA for Niko which is why Niko didn't comeback in GTA5 even in a cameo, and interesting to note is the voice of CJ says he has some issues with Rockstar but it turns out the voice of Franklin in GTA5 is the dude's uncle so it's possible Franklin's VA might try and smooth things over).
