Ok, Venezuelan here (although I left a couple years ago). My country sucks really hard right now, but the way you guys take capitalism is downright dystopian. Your country is not going to collapse for showing basic human decency.

That americans (not all, but enough of them to be a problem) seem to believe that stuff like free healthcare (which basically every other developed country in the world see as a right) unions, and in general everything that curbs in the slightest predatory capitalism is a gateway to communism and misery. Seriously, even from a purely pragmatic point of view, a healthy population is a more productive population.
