Your argument is invalid because this whole thing with Lola is not about the design of a new character, but redesigning an existing one for the sake of wokeness. I never really heard arguing like this about new characters' design, other than is it interesting or bland, original or copy-paste of another, hot or meh, etc. Not counting literally woke thrash like Snowflake and Safespace. Redesigning a female character to make her less appealing to men, is the same woke thrash as blackwashing an existing character, because "middle age England was full of black people and if you say otherwise you're racist".

As stated below, it's because it's an old character being changed, as well as the obvious agenda behind it. Hell, if this was a Lola for a brand new Looney Tune cartoon, far fewer people would care. (Or even if it was a new character, like an older Babs Bunny or something.) They'd certainly voice that they don't like the design, but it wouldn't reach this level. It also doesn't help that the creator/s, like a dumbass, went out of their way to say that it indeed was because of an agenda and essentially saying, "Women are stronger the less feminine they look."

As far as new characters/IPs go, people do of course still mock said characters when they have a bad design and such. It doesn't happen often, because the types of people that make these kinds of designs lack creativity and only ever change existing characters. But that's all detractors do, make fun of the design and call out the agenda behind it. Unlike, say the SJW types that claim characters and their creators are sexist and need to be changed/removed, while riling up as much of a twitter mob as they can to attack them.
