Scott Cawthon Republican Candidates Donations Controversy - Putting Donations into Perspective

This is what kills the "he's a bigot on purpose" idea for me. Almost every homophobic person of his age is not only fully open about it, but they would also never get their money anywhere even close to anything that would help gay people in any capacity. At worst, he is really clueless by thinking that Republicans can do any better than Democrats about it, but by no means would an actual, hateful homophobe donate money to vocal LGBT+ supporters on purpose, not even to cover their ass since, again, they are open about it and see nothing wrong with it – specially those that proudly label themselves as Republicans. I could maybe see this being the case for corporations, but Scott is not one of those and neither does his product belong to one as of right now.

Worst you can say about Scott is that he is a stereotypical Texan boomer trying to get some semblance of a benefit from an inherently broken two-party system that represents nobody's best interests without breaking someone else's best interests in the process, so he was going to piss someone somewhere off regardless of what politicians he donated to.
