likexporcelain Follow This is because while the Lost ending was confusing and non-traditional, it did not completely ruin the entire series. It did not contradict everything that had been set up for us through the previous seasons. It did not make re- watching the series impossible. Fans do not now dislike Lost because they dislike the final episode. Fans do not rant about the incompetence of the writers simply because they wished the final episode had been different. Lost is a good example of how show runners can dissatisfy fans with an ending without betraying fans with an ending that makes them feel like investing in the entire show wasn't worth it. D&D didn't just dissatisfy fans with a strange and confusing finale, they betrayed fans by ruining character arcs, contradicting the overall narrative of the series, and creating sloppy, poor-quality scripts because they are so clearly over the entire project. This is the difference between hitting and missing, and just giving up on the game entirely before chucking the bat into the crowd and blaming fans when they get knocked over.
