In hindsight, at least assuming Dread follows closely to Sakamoto's original vision for the story, I now understand what he was trying to do with Other M. The fact Samus developed a close bond with the Metroid whose DNA would go on to imbue her with the power of one is pretty powerful. The fact Samus continuously stares at her hand in Other M is, again in hindsight, pretty good foreshadowing. It makes me wish now that Other M wasn't such a colossal mess.
