Cruelty Squad - Comparison

Cruelty squad has some absolutely beautiful criticisms and hilarious satire of capitalism, although far from subtle. The fact that most people in the game just seem to not question the horrible nature of society, but just accept it as a given part of life, is a way more realistic portrayal of a dystopia than a lot of other games manage to portray, with everyone trying to overthrow their corporate overlords.

At one point, the Cruelty Squad you work for marks you for death and you have to kill your landlord and escape. However, it turns out that this was just a bureaucratic fuck up, and after that's made clear, you come back to work the next day as if nothing happened. At first it makes you laugh, but the more you think about it, the more you understand just how sick and disgusting Cruelty Squad's world is.
