To be fair, a lot of Dreamworks' problems stem from them trying to recreate Shrek, and it was only somethign they got out of properly in 2008 when they made Kung Fu Panda.

It's baffling how their first attempt to copy Shrek's success, immediately after an extremely competent sequel in Shrek 2, was Shark Tale, easily their worst film within that style.
