Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) - Normal superhero costume vs MCU costume

The original superhero costumes were designed to be drawn by a guy who had to hand draw 32 pages every month. Draw a human figure, add a few details to convey a leotard with an icon and boots along maybe some gloves and a cape and a mask/headpiece. Each frame in the printed version is like 5 by 5 cm or so.

In live action in most cases this does not work so well when you can make out fine details. Adding a bit of texture is generally a good thing.
