To be honest, even if the devs would come out to confirm whether Bridget really is trans or not, i don't think it would matter that much because the damage has already been done. Everyone has pretty much made up their mind about it already, just like those endless never ending lolicon vs anti-lolicon arguments. Doesn't matter if the devs confirm Bridget not being a trans, they are still going to believe and keep saying that Bridget is trans and the other site keeps believing and saying that Bridget is a femboy no matter what the devs say. This is just going to cause even more division and hate between these groups too, not like there already was enough of it.

The idea is that Bridget was imposed a gender growing up because of superstitions, but ended deciding that for herself growing up. And as, well, you know, a decision, it can be a choice they like (feminine man) or a choice they don't like (trans woman, non binary, gender fluid, etc).

Technically speaking, even the whole femboy / otokonoko thing could be blamed on grooming.
And nobody mentions that because the grooming argument is exclusively made to criticize a choice they don't like.
