A nameless Odraani trooper – well not really, he is Öhrvauz (Sergeant) Maiel Kellbach – is resting in an armoured troop shelter, trying to eat a nutri-bar; a hardly edible ration made of bug protein, fructose, reinforced with vitamins and oils. Cloyingly sweet, oily, and turns into a glue-like substance in one's mouth. But it's nutritious.

Meals like this really makes any Odra miss home-cooked dinners.
