It was a real moment of epiphany for me when I realized that the purpose of colleges isn't teaching skills, it's teaching submission.

If you haven't gone through college, then you haven't proven you're willing to act like whatever asinine thing an authority says is the gospel truth, AND you probably don't have inescapable debt making it impossible for you to leave, which are the two traits employers are actually looking for.

20 pages of nightly math homework does not teach you math, it teaches you to do busy work for zero gain, forever.

Complying with whatever fucking political agenda the college has does not teach you to be a better person, it teaches you to stop having opinions and just say agree with everybody around you.

This is WHY some colleges are getting rid of grades and replacing them with diversity quotas, and why they may stop having office hours or even the ability to ever see your professor face to face or places to ask for clarification but they'll damn sure assign online homework every single period to the class of 800. They're optimizing for their ACTUAL purpose. Hell, learning may be ACTIVELY DETRIMENTAL to the experience, because it helps you form your own conclusions and makes you harder to manipulate. But THINKING you've learned a lot and are hard to manipulate while you haven't actually learned shit, that's letting those in power play on easy mode.

Making money. Don't need to pay anybody to grade online homework. Don't need to pay anybody to staff a help center. Don't need full-time faculty so they can have office hours. Pay the football coach $10M because a winning team sells tickets.
