1 7 BEA Gu PLO A Millennial's Relationship with Other Generations The Silent Generation You were our grandparents who gave us some of our earliest memories of kindness and fun. You fought wars for us, suffered greatly through tragedies of disease and economic disaster. Yet, whenever we came over to visit, you did everything you could to see the joy in our faces as you gave us money, food and warmth. Offering us chocolates, ice-cream and other snacks whilst saying "Help us finish these, the doctor says I'm not allowed to have too many", which confused us as to why you purchased them in the first place. You wanted nothing more than the occasional hug and a big wet kiss on the cheek. We miss you with all of our hearts. Baby Boomers You are our mothers, fathers, aunts, uncles and grandparents to our children. You worked hard to support us and taught us some of the most important lessons in life. If we had a nightmare, or felt sick in the middle of the night, you were there for us with a gentle rub on the head and soothing song to let us know that everything was going to be okay. You may not have a strong grip on today's technology, but it gives us the opportunity to impress you and amaze you with simple actions like setting up a phone, or connecting your TV to hundreds of different channels (even though you tend to stick to the same TV soaps everyday). Thank you for raising us. ORHOOD. to the Generation X You are our big brothers and sisters. You dared to show the world you were different, that you could influence not just yourselves but generations to come with you music, TV, video games and no nonsense attitude. You shared all of this with us and still remain in our playlists and classic console libraries to this very day. You paved the way for the modern era and made such a huge impact that even today kids feel an almost built in nostalgia for the 80s and 90s that modern media has been trying to recreate ever since. You're the MTV generation, back when MTV still had music and the generation with the biggest flair and style with every album being it's own work of art and every piece of clothing being it's own statement. Thank you for looking out for us when we needed it. Zoomers You are our baby brothers and sisters. Hope. That is what you offer us as Millenials. We hope that when you see us, you see exactly what we saw in Generation X. Your new trends and digital impact scare us, but only because we care about you and want make sure you don't get tricked like many before you have. We're happy to see that your generation brings a new found respect, love and acceptance for your fellow human beings. A world where anyone can identify as who they are without fear of reprisal, that is what you bring to this world and it's beautiful. This world is yours for the taking and there are some people who want to take that away from you, don't you let them! You're the beacon of light in an otherwise cloudy world.
